How to get a Gemini API Key
Get your free API key in under 2 minutes. No credit card, no billing setup — just a Google account.
Get your API Key from Google
Go to aistudio.google.com/api-keys, sign in with your Google account, and click Create API key. Your key will appear instantly — copy it to your clipboard. No credit card or billing setup needed.
Paste into Fetch
Open Fetch Settings, paste your API key into the API Key field, and click Save. Your key is encrypted and stored locally using macOS safeStorage — it never leaves your device.

Try typing an AI command — for example, press Option + Space to open Fetch, then type t hello world to translate text instantly.

Free tier is generous
Google's free tier includes enough requests for most personal use. No surprise charges.
Switch models anytime
If you hit a quota limit on one model, switch to another in Fetch Settings. Each model has its own quota.

Revoke anytime
You can delete or regenerate your key from Google AI Studio at any time.
